Realism Poem:

Falling

The place she wanted to be was close to him,
in his arms where she could feel complete comfort.
She whispers " Im afraid of falling "
He smiles " I'll catch you. "
Pulling closer
Neck kisses
His smell
There was comfort and peace with his embrace
Suddenly she feels a secret kiss,
it ripples through her body,
and blooms beneath the surface of her skin.
Her muscles relaxed,
as she could barely catch her breathe.
He pushed her up against the wall,
and held her arms above her head.
Holding her head on each side,
he gazes into her beautiful crystal blue eyes.
He lightly kisses her forehead and whispers..
" You deserve to be happy,
not in the arms of someone to keep you waiting,
but in the arms of someone who will take you now.
Love you forever, and leave you never."
The kiss was like something she had only seen in fairytales,
but now it was coming true.
Luna had never felt such an impassioned warmth before,
and in that moment she realized that love is real.
When you find love she guessed it was something really beautiful,
at least thats what she read about in books.
Luna didn't know as much about love as she said she did,
but she knew why everyone wanted it so much.
It's the closest thing we have to magic.

What is a poem good for?

A good poem if for teaching but also entertainment. Poems bring meaning to peoples lives, it could be way more then just a hobby. Symbolism is the practice or art of using an object or a word to represent an abstract idea. An action, person, place, word, or object can all have a symbolic meaning. When an author wants to suggest a certain mood or emotion, he can also use symbolism to hint at it, rather than just blatantly saying it.To me writing a symbolism poem or even a poem in general is difficult because it takes tackling a good idea, using correct form to get your idea across, really good word choice, using powerful images, cutting out unessential words, having just the right amount of words so you don't give away to much or to little of information, giving the reader a strong reaction, and giving the reader a strong intellectual reaction. I feel I have a lot of growing todo when it comes to writing poetry, even writing in general but thats what I'm here todo. I think poetry is a great way to show my art in a new and creative form. I hope I can learn and grow from this class and take home these skills.

GREED

Shake with your right hand,

but hold a rock in your left.

People may seem kind,

but don't be fooled by their kiss of death.

Only once you've carried your own water,

will you learn the value of every drop.
Why Poetry is important

Yes meaning in poetry is important. Poetry is important for the teaching of writing and reading. Poetry enables teachers to teach their students how to write, read, and understand any text. Poetry can give people a healthy outlet for surging emotions. Reading original poetry aloud in class can foster trust and empathy in the classroom community, while also enhance speaking and listening skills that are often neglected in high school literature classes. Poetry is a type of literary art form that can be associated with a whole array of ideas and emotions. Many poets throughout history have incorporated their political views and their personal thoughts through the use of poetry. The simple act of picking up a pen and pad of paper to write down whatever you are feeling can also be a very exhilarating  experience that can free your mind of many worries of everyday lives. I think reading poetry and understanding it is different for everyone. We often speak and write in extremely literal terms, because we want to make sure we are understood.Great poetry is not literal, almost by definition. As art, it shows us a higher truth that is expressed in a nonliteral, nonlinear way, a way that is completely original to the artist who has composed it.

My Writing Process:

For me personally I don't really have a writing method quiet yet because this is my first experience writing poetry. It didn't take me to long to come up with ideas but it wasn't an easy process. I started by picking a subject that I can relate to and find intriguing to talk/write about. I think I am able to write on cue as long as I have a strong subject, I think if the subject is not relatable to the person it makes it more difficult to write which would effect being able to write on cue. I don't necessarily have writing habits but when I wrote my first poem last week I first thought of something very meaningful to mean and most likely something everyone can relate to in some way or form. No place in particular that I write but I do need complete silence for a good thinking process. I would say writing during the night is a good time for me to write because thats when I think the most. I think words are very important when it comes to poetry, the higher the vocabulary the better. I personally feel that the best poems written are the ones hardest to understand. The most important elements in poetry is , rhyme scheme, alliteration, metaphors, sound and word use. A successful poem to me is a symptom of the writers effort to make sense of the world. Often, ideas that can't be expressed in showing but sometimes be expressed through strong images. A successful poem often uses clear, memorable, concrete images to make a point.

Lustful

Give it a shot,
Even with the risk of you getting lost.
Love is for real,
I’ve seen it crystal clear.
I’d rather make you laugh,
Then act like I’m joking.
And to tell you the truth about the feelings you have awoken.
